2nd Annual National Conference on Security Analysis and Risk Management

As you may or may not know, I am currently sitting in the Fairfax Econo Lodge fresh off a dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. A group of SRA Club members and I are attending the 2nd Annual National Conference on Security Analysis and Risk Management. This Conference is hosted by SARMA, Security Analysis and Risk Management Association, and is located in Arlington, Virginia at the George Mason School of Law. I have been very excited about this opportunity to mingle with the current security professionals and listen to people who are very well regarded and published in their respective fields. The amount of information that I gained in just this first day is mind boggling and I will try to encompass it as well as I can. I know that ISTBuilding.com said that we would be “live blogging” but I will be posting about the events the night after I attend them. I just don’t have time during the conference to update live.
Our contact at this conference is new SRA Professor Will McGill who will be teaching SRA 311 in the Fall. I will be signing up for the student membership of SARMA after this conference (once I get my money in order) and I really believe that SRA Majors and SARMA have a bright future together. I recommend that you all go to SARMA’s website and check them out, maybe even foot the $25 bill to join up. In the following posts, you will learn about George Mason’s CIPP Program, more about SARMA, Safegaurding Supply Chains from Geopolitical Risks, Risk Analysis Frameworks for Counterterrorism, and a little bit about Will McGill. That was just from day one. Also, please check out Maiselog.com to see what he is posting about this same event. We are dual covering it so that you can get maximum information from more than one source. Please keep me posted on what you think and stay tuned for the intense information to come.
