Iron Man and the Future of Technology

Amid this blazingly hot weekend, I decided that going to the movies was a good idea. I eventually wound up seeing Iron Man, and I’m glad I did. It was chock full of future technologies that I want to get my hands on. First off, the way his Mac could talk to him and interact like it was his butler was amazing. I also liked how it went with him in the Iron Man suit. Pretty sweet idea. Is an interactive computer that you can take with you anywhere the future of computers? He also had many identification tools with the Iron Man suit that could differentiate between civilians and terrorists. I wonder if this is really possible. His touch pad keyboard looked very futuristic, but it wasn’t on the screen long enough for me to catch a good look at it. The final thing, the robots that make cars now are used in the movie as his helpers in the shop. The thought that people could use those robots in the way the movie showed is a very cool idea, but how he was able to interact with them was maybe a little too far out there. But, then again, who knows what the future may hold and until that day, all we can do is speculate. What do you think of the technologies of Iron Man, or any other movie for that matter? Post some comments about what you think the future may hold.

    Russel,

I think the technologies used in Iron Man are not far off, 10 years max.

I believe the future is going to rely heavily on Inter Conected Networks (i.e. the internet). Technology is going to get increasingly better in shell coding to allow more advanced applications.

I am a student and I have chosen to make an oral presentation about your blog. I was wondering if you can send me an E-Mail confirming that you are monitoring your blog closely.

    Regards,
    Jake
